Gate Access

Residential gate access

Safety and security are paramount in Sanctuary Cove. The road entrances to the residential areas are protected by electronic gates, monitored closed circuit TV and intercom, to prevent entry to uninvited guests.

Residents have the ability to access the Residential Area via the following methods:

ID Access Card

Residents may purchase an ID Access Card to swipe at the intercoms for access.

Your ID Access Card also entitles you to:

  • Use of the Beach Pool at the InterContinental Sanctuary Cove;
  • Entry to The Sanctuary Cove International Boat Show.

Automatic Licence Plate Recognition (LPR)

Residents may register their Licence Plate with Security by submitting a Licence Plate Recognition (LPR) Details Form. Once entered into the system, the LPR System will detect the Licence Plate when the Resident approaches the security gates.

When approaching the security gates, please do so slowly and obey the traffic signals at the LPR Queueing Point and the LPR Reading Point.

Bluetooth Mobile Credential

Residents also have the option of entering the site via a Bluetooth Mobile Credential (this can be downloaded as an application on your mobile phone). The Bluetooth mobile credential may be purchased through Security Services.

Intercom Access

Residents may also simply push the intercom button and speak directly with Security for access.

Visitor and contractor gate access

Authorised guests, visitors or contractors may enter the Residential Area via one of the six entrance gates. They may be categorised as a one-off visitor, a permanent visitor or a visitor for a specified duration.

A visitor or contractor may have the following access rights:

  • Authorising Rights – Visitors or contractors listed may add persons to your authority list and give access to the site on your behalf.
  • Allowed Keys – Authorised visitors or contractors may collect keys to your property from the Security Roundhouse. There is an upfront Valet Service Fee per occasion and may require additional Valet Services should an alarm require deactivation. Please refer to Valet Services. <link to Valet Services fact sheet>
  • Alarm Code – Permanent visitors or contractors may be given a unique alarm code (separate to yours) to access your property. If choosing this option, please contact Security to organise a convenient time to program the code.
  • Security to access – Security can attend and let visitors or contractors into your property, and then secure it and rearm it once they leave. Note: an upfront Valet Service Fee per occasion applies. Please refer to Valet Services.

Resident’s visitors, guests or contractors may be given access via the following methods:

Resident Visitor Management System

The Visitor Management System (VMS) Portal provides Sanctuary Cove residents with access to enter visitors details directly into the access control system of the residential gates. The portal provides a secure and seamless interface for residents to authorise either one-off gate access or a visitor for a specific duration without having to phone or email Security with their visitor’s details.

Licence Plate Recognition is an integral feature of the VMS and relies on the user entering the licence plate number of their visitor’s vehicle along with their email address. Where a Licence Plate number is unavailable, the VMS Portal will generate a one-off PIN code for their visitor to enter at the gate which will be emailed directly to the visitor.

Note: Residents are required to enter their guest as either a visitor or contractor within the VMS system. Contractors are only authorised during specific hours (refer below). Residents should not enter a contractor as a personal visitor in order to bypass the approved hours of work. Visitors found in breach of the contractor by-laws will be asked to leave and return during authorised hours.

The Resident Visitor Management System may be accessed via access.scove.com.au.

For instructions on how to register for and use the VMS System, please click here.

Automatic Number Plate Recognition (LPR)

Residents may register the licence plate/s of their permanent visitors or contractors with Security by submitting a Licence Plate Recognition and Visitor Details Form.

Once complete, the LPR System will detect the Licence Plate when the visitor/contractor approaches the security gates. Please ensure that your visitor/contractor approaches the security gates slowly and that they are aware that they need to obey the traffic signals at the LPR Queueing Point and the LPR Reading Point.

Intercom Access

Visitors and contractors may simply push the intercom button and speak directly with Security for site access.

Residents are required to register their visitor or contractor in advance via email to [email protected], or by contacting Security on (07) 5500 3333 – Option 2.

Contractors

Contractors are only authorised to access the Residential Area during specific hours. This is to ensure that the quiet enjoyment of the community is maintained.

Security will caution anyone considered a nuisance as per Residential Zone Activity By-law 5.3.

Contractor Hours of Work:

Monday to Friday: 7:00am – 5:00pm

Saturday: 8:00am – 1.00pm (hand-held power tools only)

Sunday and Public Holidays: Not Authorised

Note: If a Resident requires a contractor to conduct emergency repairs during unauthorised hours, they must first contact Security on (07) 5500 3333 – Option 2 for approval.
